This dish is kids all time favorite if you prepare it with fillet fish cubes.. Kids will love it like nuggets. Squeeze some lime juice to the fried hot fish and it can be used as a accompaniment to cocktails or mocktails. Now interested ? 🙂

Preparation time : 10 mts

Cooking time : 15 mts

Serves : 4 to 1 🙂

Ingredients for the dry spice mix: 

  • Chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder  – 2 tsp
  • Black pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – 1/2 tsp

Other Ingredients:

  • Fish – 500 g
  • Oil – 4tsp
  • Onion – 1 (medium)
  • Curry leaves – 2 sticks
  • Lime – 1(optional)


  1. Mix all the dry spices to the fish. If its too dry sprinkle some water to make the spices stick to the fish. Keep covered in the fridge for atleast an hour.
  2. Take the fish out of the fridge and thaw outside for sometime.
  3. In a frying pan add oil and place the curry leaves(whole) at the bottom of the pan. When the oil is heated place the fish carefully and cook in medium-low fire turning once.

  5. When it’s fried to your preference take it out and add some onion rings and freshly squeezed lime juice.
