These meat balls are inspired by IKEA meat balls!. šŸ™‚ which is made suitable for theĀ Asian pallet. Its up to you to replace the Chicken mince with Beef or Pork. You can bake the meat balls and then add the sauce to it or you can pan fry the balls. For the kids lunch pack de vain the chillies .

Serves : 4

Ingredients for the meat balls:

  • Chicken mince – 300 g
  • Onion – 1 (small)
  • Garlic – 2
  • Ginger – 1/2 tsp
  • Green chillies – 1
  • Coriander leaves – 1 plant/ 1/2 cup
  • Bread crumps – 1/2 cup

Ingredients for the Sauce:

  • Butter/ Olive oil – 2 tsp
  • Garlic – 2
  • Plain flour – 2 table spoon
  • Milk – 1/2 cup
  • Water – 1/2 cup
  • White/black pepper – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – 1/4 tsp

Method:

  1. For the meat balls mix all the ingredients and bake @ 200 for ~15 mts or pan fry with 1 tsp oil in low heat turning once in a while. Do not allow the meat to dry out.
  2. For the sauce, you can use the same pan you used for frying the balls.
  3. Add Butter/oil and minced garlic and let it fry for a few seconds.
  4. Put the Plain flour and reduce the heat and fry for a few minutes till the raw smell is gone and it turns light brown.
  5. Now add milk slowly and combine without getting any lumps.
  6. Add water and allow it to boil, when it comes to boil add the meat balls.
  7. Season it with salt and Pepper and cook for few minutes.

Notes:

  • If you want to use it as a snack then allow the water to evaporate till the meat balls are well coated with the sauce.
