Ingredients :
- Tuna – 200g / 1 tin
- Onion – 1 (diced)
- Ginger – 1/2 “(chopped)
- Green chilli – 2 (cut small)
- Garlic – 2 (chopped)
- Curry leaves – 2 stems
- Oil – 2 tsp ( If you’re using tuna in olive oil use the same oil in the tin)
Dry spices:
- Turmeric powder – 1/8 tsp
- Chilli powder / paprika – 3/4 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Method:
- Wash and cut the tuna into cubes. Try not to cut it too small. You can always break it into smaller pieces while cooking.
- In a hot pan add oil and when the oil gets heated add chopped onions ,ginger and garlic along with chilles and curry leaves.
- Add a pinch of salt to avoid burning the onion. Saute till everything turns soft and relises the aroma.
- Now reduce the heat add the dry spice powder and saute it further for a minute till it changes its colour.
- If you’re using fresh tuna add the tuna along with 1/4 cup of water.
- Mix it well and allow it to cook covered with a lid.
- And if you’re using tin tuna add in the tuna chunks/flakes and saute till the masala is well mixed in to the tuna pieces.
- Cook covered for a minute and it’s ready to serve since tin tuna is already cooked.
- You can serve this with cooked rice or as a layer for tuna sandwich.
