A simple preparation for beginners in cooking because it’s hard to mess this up ! 🙂 and for those who loves potatoes with chicken. For the carb conscious this is a one pot meal. Just need to adjust the number of potatoes. 🙂 This chicken curry can be served with flat bread/chapattis, pasta, bread or rice.

Serves : 6
Ingredients:
- Chicken pieces with bones – 500 g
- Potatoes – 2 medium(cubed)
- Onion – 2 medium(diced)
- ginger – 1 “(minced)
- Garlic – 4 (minced)
- Green chillies – 2 (optional, slit in the middle)
- Curry leaves – few
- Tomato – 1(cubed)
- Oil – 1 table spoon
Spice mix:
- Chilli powder/ paprika – 1/4 tsp
- Coriander powder – 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/8 tsp
- Garam Masala/all spice powder – 1 tsp
- Black pepper powder – 1/4 tsp
Method :
- Heat oil in a pan and add ginger and garlic mince and saute it till it’s aromatic.
- Add sliced onions, curry leaves and a pinch of salt to help the onion soft.
- When the onions are translucent, lower the heat and add in the spice mix.
- Roast the spice mix till the raw smell is gone, it’ll take only a few seconds.
- Now add in the tomatoes, chicken pieces and potatoes.
- Add water and mix everything very well.
- Cook it with closed lid for around 20 mts in medium heat.
- When the chicken is cooked mash some potato pieces with the back of the spoon and mix it with the gravy.
- If the gravy is less add more water and bring it to boil.
- Enjoy with bread or flat bread !
