This is a 10 minute recipe which even kids will enjoy.. This dish is best if served piping hot.. It can be served with any fried rice or an accompaniment of steak and potatoes..

Ingredients : 

  • Baby Kai Lan – 250 gms
  • Garlic – 5
  • Chilli flakes – 1/2 tsp (optional)
  • Shallots – 5(small)
  • Spring onion – 1 stem(cut small)

Sauce :

  • Soy sauce – 1 tsp
  • Black pepper sauce – 1 tsp
  • Olive oil/ Sesame oil – 1 tsp
  1. Heat the wok or a large pan and fry the garlic.
  2. Saute chilli flakes and onion till it looses its colour.
  3. Add in the greens and cook for 1 minute.
  4. When the greens starts to reduce add in the sauces and cook for 1 more minute.
  5. You can decorate it with 1 tsp fried onions to make it even taster.

Tips : 

  •  Its the garlic which makes or breaks this dish. Take your time to fry the garlic perfectly, its done when it starts to soften and turns light brown.. if it turns brown the dish will be bitter.
  • Cook the greens only 1/2 way.. the residual heat will cook it further.
  • you can add 1 tsp of honey to sweeten the dish if needed..
